Sonya Massey was shot and killed inside her home after Sangamon County deputies responded to her 911 call at around 12:50 a.m. Sangamon County Deputy Sean Grayson was indicted on charges of first-degree murder and other crimes in the killing.
According to reports, Massey called 911 to report a disturbance at her home. When deputies arrived, they encountered Massey in the kitchen, where she was allegedly holding a pot of water. An exchange ensued, and Grayson shot Massey in the face.
