Boeing's Starliner Spacecraft Set to Launch After Years of Delays
First Astronaut Mission Scheduled for May 6, 2024
Critical Test Flight to Demonstrate Capabilities
After a decade of development and years of delays, Boeing's Starliner spacecraft is finally set for launch. The company will embark on its first-ever astronaut mission for NASA as early as May 6, 2024, in a critical test flight to showcase its capabilities.
Currently, Boeing's Commercial Flight Test (CFT) Starliner is scheduled to launch to the International Space Station (ISS) at 4:43 pm EDT (20:43 GMT) on Tuesday, May 21, from Space Launch Complex 41.
The Starliner's launch campaign will commence 45 days before liftoff when United Launch Alliance begins stacking an Atlas V rocket at Space Launch Complex 41.
On June 1, 2024, at 6:59 am NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams will prepare for the historic first launch on Boeing's Starliner. This mission will mark a significant milestone in the development of commercial spaceflight and the future of human space exploration.
