Boeings Starliner Spacecraft Is Back At The Launch Pad

Starliner's Second Flight to the ISS Nears

Boeing's Starliner spacecraft is back at the launch pad.

Starliner and its rocket ride, a United Launch Alliance ULA Atlas V, rolled out to the pad at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida on Wednesday (May 18). The spacecraft is set to launch no earlier than May 19 on an uncrewed flight to the International Space Station.

OF-2 Mission

This will be the second flight of Starliner to the ISS. The first flight, in 2019, was cut short after the spacecraft experienced software problems. Boeing has since fixed the software and made other improvements to Starliner.

The upcoming OF-2 mission will be the final test flight for Starliner before it begins carrying astronauts to the ISS. If the mission is successful, Boeing will be able to start flying astronauts to the station as early as next year.
