Strong Thunderstorms Bring Heavy Rains and Dangerous Flooding
Flash floods hit Las Vegas for the second time in two weeks.
Las Vegas, Nevada - Fast-moving thunderstorms swept across the Las Vegas valley on Friday, causing flash flooding along roads and streets. The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for the area, urging residents to seek higher ground and avoid flooded areas.
The strong thunderstorms, part of the summer monsoon season, brought heavy rains and frequent lightning. The flash flooding resulted in road closures and stranded vehicles. Emergency responders were dispatched to assist with rescues and evacuations.
This is the second time in two weeks that Las Vegas has been hit by flash floods. On Thursday night, heavy rains caused flash flooding in several parts of the city, including the downtown area. Casinos and hotels were forced to close as streets turned into rivers.
The National Weather Service warns that the threat of flash flooding in Las Vegas remains high. Residents are urged to be aware of the weather forecast and to take precautions if flooding occurs.
