In a groundbreaking move, Hugh Freeze has been announced as the new head coach of the Auburn Tigers, securing a contract that will make him the highest-paid coach in the Group of Five conferences. ESPN's Pete Thamel reports that Freeze's six-year deal will pay him a base salary of $65 million, averaging out to an annual salary of $10.83 million.

Under the terms of the deal, Freeze's annual salary will see a significant increase from his previous compensation. The contract, which is fully guaranteed through the 2030 season, represents a substantial investment in the coach's talents and leadership.
